Bloom Privacy Policy

Version: 1
Effective date: [publication date]
Last updated: October 8, 2026

Bloom is an iPhone and iPad app that helps people work through routines one step at a time, earn gems and grow a garden. It is made by Aether Creations LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use Bloom.

The short version

  • We don’t collect your data. Bloom has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of ours that receive what you put into the app.
  • Your data stays on your device. Profiles, checklists, history, gems and gardens are saved on your iPhone or iPad.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Bloom contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no third-party SDKs. We don’t track you across apps or websites, and we don’t sell or share personal information.
  • Apple handles purchases. If you subscribe to Bloom+, Apple processes the payment. We never see your name, email address or payment details.

1. Information you enter in Bloom

When you use Bloom, you create:

  • Profiles: a display name for each person who uses Bloom on the device. A name can be a nickname; Bloom doesn’t need a real name.
  • Checklists and steps: names, emoji, optional schedules and reminder times, step timers and setup notes.
  • Activity history: when each checklist was started and finished, which steps were done or skipped, and the time zone at the time.
  • Rewards: the gems and diamonds each profile earns and spends, and their gardens.
  • App records: when the terms and this policy were accepted and when setup finished, how far the device has got through Bloom’s Learning Moments, and settings such as sounds and reminders.

Bloom never asks for an email address, phone number, age, birthday, photo, location or contact details.

2. Where your information is stored

All of the information in section 1 is stored only on your device, in Bloom’s private storage. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see, access or recover it.

Device backups. If you back up your device with iCloud Backup, or to a computer, Bloom’s data is included in that backup like any other app’s data. Those backups are created and protected by Apple under your Apple Account, under Apple’s Privacy Policy, and are not accessible to us.

Bloom does not currently sync data between devices. If we add iCloud sync, your data will be stored in your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access, and we will update this policy before that feature is released.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Bloom+ is an optional subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes every purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund and Family Sharing arrangement, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Bloom checks whether your Apple Account has an active Bloom+ subscription using Apple’s StoreKit on your device, and remembers the result on the device so Bloom+ works offline. We don’t receive your name, email address, Apple Account details or payment information.

Apple provides developers with sales and subscription reports, such as the number of subscriptions by country. These reports don’t identify you to us.

4. Notifications

If you turn on reminders for a checklist, Bloom asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your device by iOS; no reminder content is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in Bloom, or turn off notifications for Bloom in your device’s Settings, at any time.

5. Permissions Bloom does not use

Bloom does not access your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendars, location, health data or files.

6. Information Apple may share with us

If you have chosen in your device’s settings to share analytics or crash data with app developers, Apple may share aggregated usage statistics and crash reports for Bloom with us. These are controlled by you in your device’s Settings (Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), and they don’t identify you to us. We use them only to find and fix problems in Bloom.

7. Children

Bloom is designed to be set up by a parent or caregiver, who may then use it together with a child. A child’s routines, history and garden are stored only on the device, as described in section 2, and are never sent to us.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). Because Bloom does not send information to us, we do not collect personal information from children within the meaning of the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU and UK GDPR, or similar laws.

Bloom keeps children away from purchases: in the parts of Bloom a child is likely to use, offers of Bloom+ sit behind a question meant for adults, and every purchase still needs approval on Apple’s own purchase sheet (including Ask to Buy for a child’s Apple Account).

Bloom links to a few pages outside the app, such as Apple’s standard license agreement, this policy and our Terms of Use. Websites outside Bloom have their own privacy practices.

9. Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays on your device until you delete it:

  • Deleting a checklist in Bloom removes it from your active list; its past sessions stay in History.
  • Deleting Bloom from your device permanently erases all of Bloom’s data on that device. It can only be restored from a device backup you made.

Because we don’t hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete from our side, and we cannot restore data that has been deleted from your device.

10. Security

Bloom’s data is stored in the app’s private storage, which iOS keeps separate from other apps and protects with your device’s passcode and encryption. Keep your device protected with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. Anyone who can unlock your device and open Bloom can see what is saved in it.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, and to object to or limit how it is used.

Because your Bloom data is kept only on your device, you exercise these rights directly in the app: you can view and change your information in Bloom, and delete all of it by deleting Bloom. We hold no personal information about you to provide, correct or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling.

If you have a question about your rights, contact us (section 13) and we will respond within 30 days.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Bloom changes. The version number and “Last updated” date above show when it last changed. If we make a material change, such as starting to collect any information, the policy gets a new version number, and Bloom shows it to you and asks you to accept it before you can keep using Bloom. Nothing the new version allows happens on your device until you accept it. Earlier versions stay available on our website.
